GB BMX Team go in Search of Olympic Medals

Shanaze Reade & Liam Phillips go in search of Olympic medals on BMX finals day at the London 2012 Velopark. Since AFL Architects delivered the new BMX track within the state of the art training facility at British Cycling headquarters in Manchester the duo have been training there day in day out for almost a year now. Parallel tracks had to be designed into the indoor arena to allow for both world class training for the British Team as well as the wider community use. Marcel Ridyard Associate at AFL Architects explains "It was no mean feat shoe-horning the complex requirements of both an elite team squad and members of the public into the pre-built arena. Everything from reviews of the existing seating sight lines to provision for seating expansion for local BMX tournaments had to be considered".
