Transforming Hull City Centre

AFL Architects has been working with Hull City Council on an impressive new mixed masterplan, located right in the heart of the city. The plans will breathe new life into the centre with brand new retail outlets, housing, leisure facilities and parking. Read more about the development here.

Responding to public support, our team has also preserved the 1963 Italian glass mosaic Three Ships mural (pictured) behind a curved glass front, ensuring the new Albion Square retains Hull’s unique character.

“We’ve been overwhelmed by the positive feedback so far on this scheme. This masterplan will ensure that trade stays within the redeveloped city centre. Following on from the design of Hull Venue, it’s really exciting for AFL to again be involved in the city’s 2017’s City of Culture ambitions.” Catherine McCormick, AFL Masterplanner

The next stage will be to secure council approval in October for assembling the site and marketing the scheme to potential developers. Visualisation credit: Infinite 3D
